The light coming from the little rusted knife was unnaturally bright; the contrast between it and the darkness of the cellar ironically made the darkness seem all the more potent. Meadow mist lurked in whisps throughout the camp, turning the tents into dark hulking islands, while the few souls who had risen with the sun were moving slowly between them, appearing as shadowy figures themselves. Sound was muffled but for the singing of the birds, which seemed unnaturally loud in the absence of all other noise. This is my half-elf character from the two-year campaign of D&D I played in. Piper has 17 levels in rogue, as well as all three levels of Ruathar that are available. The Ruathar levels make her "beloved of the elves", and advance her lifetime to something like 2,500 years. The bow is a +2/5 Brilliant Oathbow, which at one point in the game was blessed with the spell Miracle by the goddess Austra. All in all, it ended up being something like a +9 or 10 weapon. Scary!
